Mentoring

We’re not meant to walk the road aloneMentoringWomen1jesusdisciples

At whatever stage of life we find ourselves, whether life is going well or badly, having a Mentor will enrich your life. Christ Church has a mentoring programme which is open to anyone, regardless of age or stage of life.

Having a Mentor will benefit the mentee in the following ways:
  • To be encouraged and strengthened in your faith.
  • To have a safe place to explore issues of faith.
  • The opportunity to share and pray about personal struggles and issues.
  • Accountability in your walk with God and in all areas of your life.
There are currently about 100 trained Mentors active in mentoring relationships.

All mentoring conversations are completely confidential. Meetings can be held either weekly, fortnightly or less frequently, depending on the need. There is no payment invo
lved.

A mentoring support group meets monthly to oversee the programme, and ensure that everyone involved has an optimum mentoring experience. Two training events are held annually, and Mentors are contacted monthly or bi-monthly to check that the process is continuing.

How to get involved in the mentoring programme:imagesCAVHNJBXMentoring
  1. If you would either like to volunteer as a Mentor or be mentored, download the Mentor Form (if you want to mentor) or the Mentee Form (if you are wanting to be mentored) and email it to Alison on ajmaytham@gmail.com.
  2. We will prayerfully match up Mentors & Mentees as best we can, and both the Mentor and Mentee will be contacted by phone to ask if they are satisfied with the allocation before proceeding.
  3. The Mentee will then be asked to make contact with the Mentor who will be expecting the call, to set up the first meeting.

If anyone wants either specifically business-related mentoring, or there is a need for an intensive coaching relationship, there are trained professional coaches within Christ Church who are available.
Contact Alison Maytham who will direct you to a suitable coach.  NB Alison Maytham has taken over as Mentoring Co-ordinator, from Jeremy Clampett.
